LOTS of pictures of Lakin and Emma ( in the CUTEST outfit!!)

I just love close up pictures! Don't you just want to kiss her little mouth?? I can't ever get enough of Emma's HUGE grin!
Ummm.... Mom???Okay.... I'm getting bored

Isn't this outfit adorable?!
I HAD to post this picture! Look at that face!awwww...... sweet little bows

and the ruffles on her bumm
So did everyone have a good weekend?? I hope so! I went shopping, like I told you I was, and spent WAY to much money..... but it was FUN!! I don't feel as if I got it entirely out of my system.. not even a little bit actually. I kind of ( well, REALLY) want to go back again today! Maybe not to Edinburgh, but shopping!! I'm not kidding when I say that I think I'm developing a problem. I do honestly think (actually, know) that I could go EVERY day and not be bored with it! EVER!!!! I want to buy clothes!! Shoes!! Bags!! Makeup!! Perfume!! Socks!! UNdies!! Bras (well, maybe not bras)!! Boobs!! Then Bras!! I just want to buy and buy and buy and BUY!!!!!!! I'd buy for all of you ( well most of you anyway:) , too!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Help me!!! IT's eating me alive!! Okay..... I don't feel better, maybe it's not eating me alive, but..... SHOPPING would make me feel better!! Anyway, Jami and I went to Edinburgh Sunday morning and did a little clothes shopping for the kids and myself. I guess that's just the kids, cause' I didn't actually buy anything for myself. Wait, I DID buy a really cute sweater as a last minute impulse right when we were leaving. Lakin got lots of clothes and so did Emma, who I said MANY times I wasn't buying for unless I LOVED it, because she doesn't need any more winter clothes.... BUT....I.....COULDN"T ....... HELP.........IT!!!!!!!!!!! I knew that Carter's would get me, and it did..stupid, stupid Carters! Stupid me, too, because I had a 20% off coupon and I FORGOT it!! I could have saved at least $40! I was (and still am) SOOOOOOOOO mad at myself! Urggghhhhh!! Lakin adored her clothes and she is just too cute!! when I got to mom's to pick up the kids, I brought in all of my loot to show off and Lakin was just all smiles and oohs and "oh my God's" (we're working on that). After I pulled it out to show, she showed her memaw and papa then placed everyone's clothes in seperate piles. NO ONE was able to touch any of those clothes except for her... even if they were Gavin's or Emma's! They had specific piles and were not to be disturbed. After she had them all arranged to her liking, she then showed her mema and papa her clothes AGAIN! Then she decided to have a mini fashion show.... even with her new panties. After trying about half of her things on, she settled on a two piece sweatsuit that she was particularly fond of. Even though it was 80+ degrees outside, she insisted on wearing it home. She fell asleep in the car and when we got home after she woke up a bit, wanted her clothes to show to her dada. So she showed him everything.. her's, Gavin's and Emma's, put everything in piles again and tried a few things on. Re-arranged her piles again, gave her mama and dada hugs for all of her clothes, and played with her clothes for about another hour and FINALLY let me hang everything up. Of course, first thing this morning, she asked for all of her and Emma's clothes and wanted to play with them again. I was mean and said no.

These are of Lakin pouting and then her silly faces

oops... repeat picture

Hey Jami, remember " would you still be my friend if......"
Anyway, I took these pictures today just because I LOVE this outfit that Emma's wearing! It's definitely one of my fav-o-rites! It's 9 months and fits her really well, so I wanted to make sure I got some pictures before it's to little, even though I'm sure she'll wear it lots, because ,again, I LOVE it! She'll be out of it way to soon, but then I can pass it on to miss Ava who should be just perfect for it around the end of winter. Then I'll get to see it again!:) I tried to get Lakin to join, but she didn't want to. She did want to stick her feet in Emma's face, though and when I told her not to, she got mad at me. Then I told her to move her polka dotted butt, and I guess I hurt her little feelings because she went to her room and cried:( She came back and I asked her what was wrong and she said " you won't let me up on the bed" ( sobbing). I told her she could get on the bed she just couldn't put her feet in her sister's face. I'm a horrible mommy! So she climbed back up and hid from the camera every time I tried to take her picture, but I did get some of her pouting. After a while she cheered up and made some funny faces for me... Enjoy my pictures!!!
Isn't this precious??

Autumn

Happy Autumn everyone! Are you all as excited as I am about the upcoming cold (Brrrrrr.....) weather???? Okay, I'm only joking ( I know, not funny), I actually DESPISE cold, BUT, Fall, I love!! I love the colors, the smells, the days that are just slightly chilly and brisk (yes, I just used brisk in a sentence), you know, sweater days. I love the Covered Bridge Festival, carving pumpkins, and trick-or-treating, especially if the weather is like it was last year. Halloween may very well be my favorite holiday! I love decorating my yard with the kids and decorating my kids!! I love pumpkin patches, hay rides and corn mazes. Hot apple cider with caramel. Pretty fall sweaters for the girls and myself. I don't really look forward to the end of fall, because then we always have a VERY long wait until spring, which I also LOVE!!

Ahhhh!!! Mommy, help!!!
These pictures of the girls were takin yesterday. Emma was taking a nap ( yes, in my bed, gasp!) Emma had woken up, but wasn't crying. She was just in there playing with the blankets and talking to herself. Lakin decided to go on in there. When I went in there to see what she was doing, she had her sister in this position, at the end of the bed. She started out on her back at the top of the bed. Lakin said " here you go mama, you can have her". Thanks!!

Not really sure about this picture of Emma. She just sort of looks funny, almost like she's sitting in a chair...... I'm not really sure why I posted it, but I DID!!!!!

I haven't blogged this week and think I may have been having withdrawls. I just didn't really have anything very blog worthy to write about.... I should make things up! That would be fun! Unfortunately, I'm not feeling very creative, either. So I took a lot of pictures and I'm going to post those! While I'm waiting on their upload ( which could take awhile), I'll bore you with whatever I can think of. Hmmmmm.... ahhh, I know, a wonderful topic. Men and PMS!! I don't mean them having to deal with ours, I mean THEIR PMS. Ugh!! It's 10 times worse than mine, I swear! I'm sure all of you females know what I'm talking about, Jami and I have had this talk before. They (men) have these brief periods, that happen about once a month or so, sometimes bi-monthly, that they are just plain bitchy!! Not grouchy.... bitchy. I mean they will complain about everything!! It's just not the complaining, it's the whole attitude. It's like all of their feminine hormones come raging to the surface at once and they just can't handle it. Of course, they don't realize it and are NEVER doing anything wrong ( even though my husband does laugh about this subject). JUST like the stero-typical female having PMS. Men are worse, I would bet on it. My particular PMS isn't really that bad, just a little moody, nothing to dramatic. Most people would not even notice. Unless your Jami, then the day I start, when you call and I say "Hello", you'll then say " you started didn't you?". Yes she can apparently tell just from my voice saying hello. Scary, isn't it? She's usually right, too. Any opinions on this topic...... I will post your thought on my next blog:) It will be like a radio show.... kind of... okay, not really. And yes, if your wondering, my husband is currently experiencing some MAJOR P.M.S.!!

Emma laughed at Peek-a-Boo on Tuesday night! She actually he-hee'd. Awwwwww... too cute!! She figured it out pretty fast though and every time would pull and grab at my hands covering my eyes. She's a genius already!!!! She'll rid the world of all diseases:) Can you believe that she will be 6 months in, like, a week??? Okay, two weeks, but still!! That means that she will have lived HALF of her first year of life, that it will all fly by even faster from that moment, that I will have to start planning her birthday party........... AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I can't handle it, I really just can't. That, of course, is why I'm just going to keep reproducing.... over and over and over and over................... okay, not really, but I HATE it!

Also on Tuesday night, Gavin wrecked his go cart. He rolled it, actually. I know! Scary, huh? I was sitting on the couch with Emma and Gavin came to the door crying. He wasn't crying hysterically, like " I just flipped my go cart" hysterically, just like he had gotten in trouble for something, crying. He came in and said " I just wrecked my go-cart" AHH! He said " it rolled all the way over on it's top and Vern heard me crying and ran over cause I couldn't get my seat belt off", all in one breath. He was fine. Hurt his thumb and bumped his elbow. He was mostly just scared. Poor guy, he cur;ed up on the couch and didn't move. He did want to brag, though, and asked to call his memaw.... already trying to get as much sympathy as possible:) Scary, scary! Vern said that he was in the front yard and knew something wasn't right from the sound, so he started to walk around to the back when he heard Gavin yell. He just figured that he had hit something, Gavin doesn't always pay that close attention to where he's driving. When he came around the corner of the house, he saw him on his side, and kinda freaked a bit. So he ran down there. Thank goodness for a roll bar and seatbelts!! LIke I said, he was fine, but I have a feeling it's going to be a while before he gets back on. He's not the " get right back up and shake it off" type of kid. Maybe he'll slow down around those corners!

So, I'm going SHOPPING ( picture musical notes surrounding the words) this weekend! I LOVE shopping, but don't we all??!! Okay, so I'm always kind of shopping just about everytime I leave the house, but I'm going shopping, shopping Sunday. Lakin needs winter clothes and so do I. My hubby has given the go ahead. I NEED to get it out of my system before winter gets here. I think he understands me enough to get that. Those 6 months of cold are awful!! Then it's only paying the bills and necessity's. Blah... no fun!! That of course is why I've went a little shop crazy this summer.... last winter was HARD! I had to go, like, 5 whole months without buying Lakin ANY clothes..UGH!! So my theory is stock up now while we have the money:) I'm cutting myself off with Emma, she already has a bunch. As long as she doesn't grow to much, we'll be good. Gavin needs some more long sleeved shirts, but I already went school clothes shopping for him. Besides, he's a boy... a boy who will only wear VERY particular items. So this weekend, it's my favorite thing to shop for.... LAKIN!!! I just LOVE to buy her clothes! And she gets So excited and really appreciates it. You could get her a rock and she would say "oh, thank you mama! I love it!" . She's so funny! Speaking of Lakin, school is going great! She's really enjoying it. BTW, say Happy Birthday to Johnny Appleseed... they had an apple tasting party for him today. She didn't like the apple juice and wouldn't try the apple pie. I'm putting up mostly pictures of her. These are from Tuesday. We were enjoyng one of the few days left that are warm enough to play with the hose. So I took pictures.. and video, but of course, I can't upload that:( Anyway, hope everyone is having a GREAT first week of Autumn! I'll be sure to share all of my loot from Sunday with you! She's trying to figure out how it works....
Did you notice???? Lakin is wearing a ponytail!!!!!

A joke, told by Gavin: What is a cheerleader's favorite food? Cheer -ios!!

awwwwww.... look at dirty Gumms' bow......

Random Pictures 9-19-08

Yes, that is my husband and I riding Gavin's go-cart. His little, bitty, go-cart, I might add! The kids and I were in the kitchen getting ready to eat dinner, and we heard Gavin's go-cart. Next thing I know, here comes Vern, all scrunched up, around the corner. Of course, the kids thought this was VERY funny, and gave up any hope I had of them taking more than one bite of their food. I have to admit, seeing Vern, who is, like, one of the LEAST silly people I know, drive by in this tiny little go-cart, was pretty funny. I definitely wasn't expecting it. He said he just kept thinking about Josh saying he drove Payne's, and had to try it. This of course, meant that I had to climb in, too. Man, I'm getting old! That's hard on the hips when you have to spread your legs that wide and are bumping, pretty hard at times, over the ground. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get out! I was also sure that I was going to flip, but I didn't. I decided that we need to buy an adult one. I think it would be fun!! So Vern and I got to try out Gavin's birthday present along with everyone else! I look hot, don't I??!!

So, isn't this THE cutest backpack EVER??!! We got it in the mail yesterday, and I was SOOOO excited!! I've been waiting for almost two weeks! Then, of course, I looked at the back........
which is also really cute. After seeing this little tiny zipper, I wasn't to optimistic. Now, I know she's only in preschool, but I need something that I can send a change of clothes in and they bring home a lot of projects. I knew it wasn't going to be very big, but this was TINY!! It's just so darn CUTE!! My little Lakin would be so adorable walking into school with her Blabla bag on ( maybe it would distract the eye from her crocks.... with socks!). Then I opened the zipper, thinking that we would just carry any bigger projects, we'd have to with her other bag, too. But then I saw the inside.....

I know it's hard for you to see in this picture, but what you do see, is pretty much it. It's more like a VERY small play purse inside than a backpack. It would be great for her to carry around some money or snacks, but not papers from school. I considered the idea of letting her keep it, just for that purpose..play. It's just CUTE! Unfortunately, this was on the higher end of price for a backpack. I was 100% okay with this as a BACKPACK, but not for a play bag.... I don't think. As you can see, I haven't made a for sure decision. I know I'm going to have to get her another bag, but we've already decided on one that's still cute ( we can get her name on this one) and looks bigger ( I hope!). And it's a little more than $20 cheaper. So it seems reasonable to trade this for that..... but this one is SO much cuter! I keep thinking, it's already payed for, we won't even notice if we keep it. Is it worth the hassle to send it back?? Then again, the other, lesser seen, more financially responsible part of me, knows I should mail it back. I hate not having millions and buying whatever I want!!:( I KNOW we don't need to keep it if we're not going to be able to use it. Just like I know that Lakin won't really carry it around ( outside the house) like a purse. But I like it, darn it! Lakin doesn't care if it goes back. She's already decided it's to big for her. This sucks..... I know it will be going back to company kids ( I think they should just let me HAVE it), but I'm not happy about it. So I took some pictures so I can remember the once (briefly) owned, SO cute, backpack. That Lakin never took to school. And of course I had to show all of you.

Gavin got his mid-term grades this week, and for those of you, like myself, who are not familiar with 1st grade grading, an S is equivalent of an A. Since this is the only letter that I've seen ( oh, he got an S- once on a paper), I'm not exactly sure what other letters that there are. Hopefully, I don't have to find out! In preschool and kindergarten, they used + and -. I have no idea when they switch to actual letters, maybe 2nd? Who knows. Anyway, as you can see, Gavin is doing wonderfully. I'm so proud! Let's hope he keeps it up until his report card! I told him he can have 50 cents for every S on his actual report card. I imagine as he gets older and realizes 50 cents is hardly anything, I'll have to increase the mula. Maybe when he starts getting letters, I'll start giving dollars! I'm also sure that by the time Jr. high and high school starts we'll be increasing it even more. But they do have to work a lot harder for those A's, then. Now, I know that there is different opinions on money for good grades, but the way I see it, every little bit of encouragement helps when it comes to getting kids to really work hard for their grades. Even if that means that they are working to get money, at least the goal is reached. So for those of you who are against this type of, bribery, shall we say, sorry!! I have a hunch it will come in very handy in my household in a few years! Super job, Gavin!! He's so proud of himself ( as he should be)!
Awwww.... look at that toothless grin:) It's cute now, but that will end soon when those big, giant, adult teeth come in. Isn't it funny how weird they look in their little mouths? I think that they should fall out later, so they don't look so, well, large. Anyway.... the large smile is a result of getting to shoot his BB gun, one of the gifts he received at his party. I wasn't sure how much he would enjoy it yet, just because Gavin isn't like most 7 year old little boys in some ways. I was wrong!! He loves it! Thanks Tracy! I'm ( being his mother,of course) a little weary, but Vern doesn't seem to think it's anything to worry about. He says he was Gavin's age ( maybe younger) when he got his. Of course, Vern was a little bit more of a boys boy, too. Anyway, the rule, of course, is that either Vern or myself has to be outside with him and it gets put up, out of reach, when not in use. I know it's only BB's, but ya never know.... remember the Christmas story? " You're gonna shoot your eye out!!!....." It's a Red Rider, too. Anyway, this was his first time shooting it, he was aiming at cans, missing, but trying. If he stood real close, he could hit them. I tried, to, and much to my husbands disappointment, hit both cans on the first try. HA!! Last night, he sat cans on top of the wood pile, and shot them down... what fun!

There is no real reason I'm putting these pictures of Emma up... they really aren't even all that cute..... just look at them anyway.

P.S. I am beginning to get offended over no one leaving comments but Jami. No one. Kathy used to, but now not even her. You all know you have SOMETHING to say about my blogs..... I want to hear it! Even if your criticizing my bribery! I feel so unloved!! You don't have to sign in, you can leave it under anonymous. You send me e-mails about them... leave me comments so I feel important!! P.P.S. I will send out thank yous (well, Gavin will), for the party. I just have to buy some darn cards first. This weekend! I promise!! P.P.P.S I really think someone (other than myself) should have a Halloween party this year... any volunteers?????
