"Frog Day" ... February 29,2012

Emma got a little confused about Leap Year. She thought it was "frog Day"! And..oh! She was SO excited! Next to Giraffe's, frog's are just the best! :) Of course, she insisted in dressing in ALL green for school...so we had to have a little photo shoot. Her boots are a little worn..but we didn't mind. After all...these are the moments we are going to want to remember! ;)

Lakin's pleading finally paid off...

 Lakin has been BEGGING for months...and months...AND months...to get her ears pierced. I finally gave in. The kids had the day off school on Presidents day, so we spent the night at a hotel on SUnday so they could swim and have a slumber (Payne and Alexis & Aleyah came,too!) and took them to lunch and bowling on Monday. Lakin didn't have a clue, but I'd been planning this surprise for a week! I told her we had to run to the store and grab something for myself and that I would let her buy a necklace. She was SO surprised (everyone but Aleyah and Emma were in on the secret!) when I told her why we were really there! Her face was so red! She (of course) chose the most expensive earrings, hopped right up in the chair,,,and didn't even flinch! Although..her eyes were as big as saucers after that first ear..but no tears! We were finally able to change them last week, but we're having issues with all the other earrings....I'm really hoping she doesn't have problems like I do with mine! This child wants a new pair of earring every day of the week!

January 2012

Can you believe that January is over already!! I know people say that time goes faster as you get older...but this is CRAZY fast! I don't remember time flying when I was a kid, but yet even Gavin commented on how fast last year and January has gone. There just isnt enough time in one life to get it "all" done. :( GUess we have to make the best of what time we do have!!!

I thought I'd go ahead and do a Jnauary post since the only pictures I have are from this one day. :) It's kinda crazy that we are enjoying 60 degree days in January...in INDIANA..but I"ll take it! These pictures are from one of those days.  As you can see..it cooled off a bit in just an hour..the kids went from sweaters to jackets,coats and gloves. Emma got a chance to ride her new bike ( yes, it's a boy bike..but she wanted GREEN!!), and she was soooooo excited! Can't wait (actually....yes..I can..as much as I want spring, I''m not ready for february to fly by,too!) to start going on bike rides again! NOw...if we could only get some sidewalks out here! :)
