Summer
Gasp...pant....heh,heh,heh.....
That is the sound of me breathing in this hot, hot,HOT heat!! My house ( being as poorly built and badly insulated as it is), with it's to small air conditioner, is pretty much a sauna..we are lucky to keep it at 80 degrees between 2 and 6 o'clock....but...my husbands job does have it's perks apparently, and a LOT of people are filling in their pools this year ( I think they are CRAZY!). One such crazy person happened to be older and have a fiberglass pool. My husband, being the smart man that he sometimes is, decided to work out a deal so that we could have the pool. This lady was going to cover it with concrete and was thrilled with the idea of the kids getting use out of it..so a deal was struck. :) Now, it is pretty small...and after getting it here and putting it in, for the size, it seems like a LOT of work...however...the kids are loving it ( so am I) and it's helping to keep us cool through these dog days of summer...even if it is only 4ft deep :). It's not really big enough for a lot of kids or a pool party, but it works for us...we'll make do. Hope everyone is having a good summer.....can you believe it's almost over?! Makes me sad...as much as I despise these days that I can't breath, I'm definitely not ready for summer to be over! I'll take these 115 degree days over snow and ice any day!
p.s....yes, those are MY cherries...aren't they pretty?! There will probably be some more popping up...I've been taking some pictures of fruit for picture ideas I have for the new house's kitchen ;)

May 28th,2011...Lakin's 6th Birthday..sort of
So.....I'm pretty sure these are the only four pictures I took at Lakin's party....I'm apoligizing now for our lack of birthday party memories ;( Two of Lakin and two of Ava. And...I can't even claim I was to busy! We didn't have any food other than cake and there were very few people here...one sibling from both vern and I's sides, ( and niether of their spouses) and both of my parents (no husband or wife with) and Vern's mom...Even Jamis husband was missing! Easy to say it was by far the smallest, queitest party we've had! Lakin didn't mind at all...thanks to everyone who made it! ;) The next party this year I WILL have lots of pictures from! It's Gavins last party (10's the cutoff (except for 16) for my kids), and I'm going to make it a good one! Lot's of effort going into this party...I'm excited!

Happy 4th of JUly 2011
HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!
I hope everyone had a great 4th! We spent ours....digging a hole....well, I watched while Vern dug a hole with the backhoe....but that pretty much means I dug one,too...moral support and all that. We vetoed our annual party this year to save $...this depresses me only because the 4th IS MY FAVORITE holiday!!! We did.....nothing even remotely patriotic :( I think it may take me AT LEAST until next July to recover from this. We did make s'mores and had a few sparklers left over from a few weeks ago...but that's it....sigh......BUT...hopefully everyone else participated in yummy food, swimming, ( ahem...alcohol), and lots of pretty, pretty, fireworks...oh...and lots of FUN pictures....because I didn't....sigh...again. BUT (again).....be ready and make your plans...next year, the party will resume....and I expect you ALL to be here ( with a dish and your own alcoholic beverages, of course :)....oh...and fireworks are welcome) dressed in your red, white and blue finest!!
