Lakin's first snow
Unfortunately, it's that time of year again....winter..blech!!! Fortunately, at least one of my children LOVE it!! Lakin was so excited when we had enough snow to actually walk in...she couldn't wait to get out in it. Since our wonderful highway dept. was unprepared like usual, she missed school. 243 was pretty much a solid sheet of ice. She didn't have a snow suit, but that has never stopped her before and didn't this year, either. She was only out long enough for her nose to tun pink and her ears to get cold, but I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of her out in her so, so, so cute coat and her fave-o-rite black shiny boots!! Now if only I could find a hat and gloves that matched she would be picture perfect!!!.JPG)
Time to Trim the Tree!!!
I just realized while I was uploading these pictures that I don't have one of the whole tree.....but maybe that's because it's looking a little rough this year :) I had no part in decorating, it was done entirely by Vern and the kids...and afterwards, by Bella. I swear this cat is really making me rethink my decision to keep him-her!! I don't know how many times I have found branches laying on the floor and at night I lay in bed and count the ornaments dropping. My lights have somehow been strung in ways that even I don't understand. Lets just say it's a good thing for Bella that Lakin loves him-her so much!! So.....I have a not very pretty tree ( I REALLY need to invest in new decorations!!), but that's okay, because what matters is that the kids had so much fun putting it up. In a few years I've decided I will have TWO trees in our new house....one for me and one for the family :)

Thanksgiving 2009
Unlike most years... we only had 1 Thanksgiving this year...instead of the usual 3. Although it did save me a lot of time baking, it does feel like we forgot to do something. maybe next year we'll be back to normal....if we were ever "normal", that is :) I didn't get many pictures. we were in a pretty large building due to health issues in Vern's family and there were quite a few people there that I didn't know. Not to mention that my camera battery died, right about the time I decided to pull it out and start snapping..... oh well:(
